“A Father in Every Sense”: Kofi Job Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Father-in-Law Teddy Okyere

Renowned road contractor Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job has delivered a heartfelt tribute to his late father-in-law, Mr. Moses Teddy Okyere, describing him as a man of quiet strength, discipline, and unwavering love for family and community.

Speaking at the final funeral rites held at Atwima Koforidua School Park, Mr. Job opened his tribute with Proverbs 21:21: “Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity, and honor.” He said, “such is the man we are bidding farewell to.”

In a tribute read i on his behalf by the Public Relations Officer for the Kofi Job Foundation, Kwame Agyenim Boateng, Mr. Job recalled how Mr. Okyere welcomed him not just as a son-in-law, but as a son.

“You were a father in every sense of the word. Your quiet strength, your calm counsel, and your unwavering love for your family shaped all of us who had the privilege of calling you Papa,” he told mourners.

He paid special tribute to his wife, Dr. Mrs. Esther Okyere Gyebi, crediting her father for instilling the values of education and hard work that shaped her career as a medical doctor.

“Every achievement of hers carries your fingerprints, and every life she touches as a doctor is a reflection of the values you instilled in her at home,” Mr. Job said.

The contractor also highlighted Mr. Okyere’s commitment to community service, noting that he supported the church, advised neighbors, and helped those in need without seeking recognition.

Mr. Job pledged to uphold those values in his own work and service to others.

Concluding his tribute on Saturday May 23, 2026 at Atwima Koforidua School Park, , Mr. Job promised that the legacy of discipline, integrity, and faith built by his father-in-law would live on.

“Rest well, Papa Moses Teddy Okyere. You fought a good fight, you finished your course, and you kept the faith,” he said as family, friends, and dignitaries paid their final respects.
